Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

GolfUncle is a personal golf improvement app. Your data is processed by a small number of trusted sub-processors listed below, which are necessary to run the service.

2. Sub-processors (third parties)

The following third-party services process your data as part of running GolfUncle:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored in EU West (Ireland). Privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — powers all AI features in GolfUncle, including swing video analysis, post-round insights, and drill recommendations. Your golf stats and swing video frames are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your personalised feedback. Anthropic is based in the United States — see “International transfers” below. 3. What data do we collect?

• Email address (for login and identification)
• Name (if provided)
• Golf round data: score, putts, GIR, fairways, handicap, date, course
• Hole-by-hole scorecard data (when using scorecard logging)
• Approach stats: distance, attempts, greens hit, miss direction
• Swing videos and extracted still frames — recorded in the app and used for AI analysis via Claude
• Swing notes and personal feeling descriptions attached to videos
• Pre-round intentions (warm-up flow)

4. Purpose of processing

Your data is used solely to display your own golf statistics, trends and recommendations within the app. We do not profile users, sell data, or use it for marketing purposes.

5. Legal basis

Processing is based on your consent under GDPR Article 6(1)(a), given when creating an account and using the app.

6. Storage and security

Data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with Row Level Security enabled — only you can access your own data. The EU West (Ireland) region is used to ensure data storage within the EU/EEA. Data is retained for as long as your account is active.

7. Your rights

• Access — you can view all your data in the app at any time.
• Rectification — you can edit your rounds directly in the app.
• Erasure — you can permanently delete your account and all data via Profile → "Delete my account and all data". Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
• Portability — contact us if you would like an export of your data.

8. Cookies

The app uses a single session cookie for authentication (Supabase Auth). No tracking cookies, analytics platforms, or advertising services are used.

9. International data transfers

When you use AI features (swing analysis, post-round insights, drill recommendations), your golf data and swing video frames are transferred to Anthropic in the United States. This transfer is necessary to provide the service and is based on your consent under GDPR Article 49(1)(b). Anthropic participates in the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and commits to not using API data for model training. You can opt out of AI features by not recording swing videos and by skipping the GolfUncle insight on your round summaries.
